My students need a classroom iPad Pro and an Apple TV so we can mirror image the class computer and turn our whiteboard into an interactive board for hands-on tech learning with STEM resources!
Kindergarten is the year it all starts! In my school, five and six year olds come to school for the first time with little foundational skills in place. Many come from non-English speaking homes and are predominantly of low socioeconomic status. My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day.
They believe in me to teach them ALL the things they need to learn and I want them to know I believe in them and they can do it ALL!
I teach at a Title I school in Texas where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of my students receive backpack food on the weekend, and our school also runs a food pantry for our families. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
My Project
By having a class iPad and Apple TV, we will be able to transform our boring whiteboard into an interactive board that all students will be able to use to explore our curriculum. Students will be able to do calendar time, math focus skills, interactive games for math, literacy and writing, digital science labs, daily centers and more as a whole group or in centers with a piece of technology they are most likely already familiar with instead of watching their teacher click buttons on her computer. This technology would truly be putting the lesson in their hands!
