My Project

My students are bright eyed fourth graders who are interested in learning. Half of my class are English Learners and majority of them come from low-income families. Though their first and second grade years were deeply affected by virtual learning, they are showing resilience and a motivation to learn. Comprehension and reading fluency are weak in most of my students, so the entertaining chapter books will bring fun and interesting readings for them. In addition, it will challenge their reading ability. I want to draw them into the world of reading, and naturally, they will gain comprehension and fluency skills. The variety of selections target both boys and girls at different reading levels too.

My fourth graders deserve the gift of books that they can actually hold!

They deserve to learn! In addition to the books, a portable easel board is so valuable. Getting away from projecting things on the monitor or students learning through the computer screen, they can see and follow along with what is taught right in front of them, whether in a small group or whole class. Students follow along better when learning materials are presented through visuals such as diagrams or tree maps. The easel boards make learning interactive too. Students LOVE to write on the whiteboard. While they show their learning visually, I can also formally assess them and instantly correct any misunderstandings. The easel board is also portable so if certain students, in a particular area of the classroom, need support, I can easily roll it to them and teach.

The last thing on my list are book holder containers, one container per student. Students will be able to keep all their materials on the side of their desk. This will help them be more self-sufficient!
