Help me give my students good old-fashioned play time with board games! They need to learn how to win and lose gracefully.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come in every day with a wonderful spirit for learning! Our third grade group is composed of about 95 students who come from all kinds of backgrounds located in a school community surrounded by so many challenges. One hundred percent of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. Although their short lives have included many challenges like homelessness, gang violence, and extreme poverty, they come to school ready and eager to learn. They bring their own talents, curiosity and an endless spirit for a better world! Some of my students are learning English for the first time. Therefore, school is a new and exciting place to be!
My Project
My students love playing games, so what better way to practice critical thinking and strategies to win than with a board game?
Board games will help my students learn TEAMWORK!
While my students are an awesome bunch, they still have to improve on a few things. Playing board games would help me teach them to practice following rules, taking turns, sharing, and fairness.
On bad weather days, students don't get a chance to go out to play, but they can stay indoors and learn valuable lessons. Having a variety of board games that work on teamwork will definitely improve their ability to play well together. These games would also help my students communicate and work on expressing their ideas clearly while they have fun, too!
