My Project

Access to 3D printing will help my students take Project Based Learning to the next level. When students use a 3D printer, they use their critical thinking skills to not only evaluate a problem, but create and design a solution. Students in my building are already learning about real world issues and challenges. Being able to create a physical object representing their solutions would be a huge motivator. Many of my students come from lower income families, and have never had access to 3D printing. I would love to see their excitement and amazement as they watch their creations take form.

3D printers are also an amazing way to incorporate Stem learning into different subject areas.

If we have access to a stockpile of filament, more teachers in my building will be empowered to incorporate 3D printing into their curriculum. Teenagers and preteens today face so many challenges. With so many distractions, it can be incredibly difficult to engage them. 3D printing is highly engaging and motivating, and I would love to see many teachers in my buildings harness that power to build relevancy and interest in their curriculum.
