My Project
My students are curious, capable, and eager to grow as mathematical thinkers. They come to school every day with a wide range of strengths and learning needs. In our middle school math classroom, it's essential to give them tools that support hands-on learning, visual organization, and the ability to take academic risks.
One challenge we face is making math concepts concrete and accessible.
Graph paper notebooks help students line up numbers, draw precise graphs, and organize multi-step problems—critical skills in middle school math. Highlighters allow students to annotate notes, identify key steps in solving equations, and build their confidence with color-coded learning. Finally, individual whiteboards are a game-changer for engagement and formative assessment. Students love showing their thinking on whiteboards, and I can quickly see who needs support.
With these supplies, students will gain tools that make abstract math concepts more tangible. They'll be able to test ideas, self-correct, and learn collaboratively without fear of making permanent mistakes. This project will directly support students in developing strong math habits and deeper understanding.
Your donation will provide students with simple yet powerful tools that enhance how they interact with math every day. These resources foster visual thinking, organization, and active participation. Thank you for helping my students build confidence and success in math!
