My Project
My kindergarten students love drawing, so it was no surprise to see how excited they were after an assembly with cartoonist Aron Nels Steinke. Please help us purchase a set of his fun graphic novel series, "Mr. Wolf's Class," and some engaging tools to add to our literacy centers.
I hope this project will inspire my students and help improve their budding reading and writing skills.
It is so fun reading their journal entries and watching their abilities grow each day. Many of my students still rely on copying my writing and spelling. I plan to use the literacy tools in small groups to improve my students' phonological awareness, their ability to match speech sounds to letters, and their confidence when sounding out and writing words on their own.
I would love to read the "Mr. Wolf's Class" books aloud to my class, and I also know these books would be popular choices during our independent reading time. As my students gain confidence in their reading and writing skills, they become more and more interested in our classroom library. These books would be a wonderful addition!
