My Project
Requested materials will be used to help students maintain their instruments and continue to learn on them. With funding and support from the district being so greatly diminished, any funds available have to go towards instrument repairs, leaving no funds available for necessary upkeep or purchasing more instruments, eventually leading to more damaged instruments. There are also students who have nothing to play on as a number of school owned instruments are in the repair shop, waiting to be paid for.
The goal of this project is to provide a portion of the supplies students need in order to care for the instruments they use, and to teach them how to use those supplies so they can keep their instruments in working condition.
The instrument requested will go into the hands of a student who is incredibly eager to begin learning the trumpet. The mouth pieces and reeds requested are essential to being able to play a single-reed instrument and are cost effective and work perfect for middle school students; just as with the pairs of mallets which are needed in order to play tone-bar instruments. The cork grease is a must have for clarinets and saxophones in order to keep from damaging their cork , rendering the instrument unplayable.
This project is aimed and providing students a way to take care of their instruments that they love to play so much, and to provide a way for others to join in on an instrument.
