This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My school is a K- 8th-grade public school with a very high immigrant population and a Title I school in Illinois where ninety-eight percent of students speak Spanish as their primary language. All of my students qualify for free breakfast and lunch and come from low-income households. The classroom setting is co-teaching general education teacher and special education teacher, including 4th/5th/6th grade students with special educational services and English Language Learners. Differentiation is needed on a daily basis to meet their needs in reading, writing, and social-emotional.
My students are individuals with learning disabilities; intellectual and autistic.
Their positive energy and confidence are my inspiration and motivation to continue my career in special education. Our goal is to have our children as comfortable and challenged physically as well as mentally.
My students work very hard very day and I am so proud of them.
My Project
These Boom Cards will continue to enhance students learning in the classroom and home. My classroom library deck is a place that my students really enjoy choosing what skill they would like to review, they complete work there, and they work independently! Every student deck that is placed in my Boom Card library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to learn. All of these Boom Cards have been chosen with my students in mind just the past week I have watched them the complete Boom Cards, and I have also asked them what type of Boom Cards they would enjoy learning. Students will be able to choose Boom Cards for the decks, which will help them continue to enjoy independent learning time.
With these new Boom Cards, my students will be able to choose from a variety of resources that will allow them to enhance their skills in math, reading, writing and working independently at their own grade level.
They will also be able to choose Boom Cards that interest them. The best way to increase reading, writing, and independence skills and having the ability is to practice skills more, and these Boom Cards will continue to help my students grow stronger in academics. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent working skills, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with their learning.
