My Students
My students are absolutely amazing! They are in a Chinese immersion program. Each day they come to school ready to learn with smiles on their faces.
My students are highly motivated learners who demonstrate a strong desire to learn.
They are learning Chinese, Science, and Math in Mandarin with me.
Less than 1% of our students are from Chinese native speaking families. In other words, 99% of our students are not only learning the second language but using the second language to learn other subjects such as Math and Science. Our classroom is the only place for them to learn the Chinese language and culture. We treasure the time we have at school.
My Project
This project will provide my students with over 50 new Boom Card activities to utilize during online learning. I assign these academic card decks to my students to complete review, remediation, and extension activities since I am unable to meet with everyone each day in small groups to review, remediate, and extend academic content as I can in person. Boom cards are digital, self-correcting interactive activities for students that teachers can track for student understanding of the academic content contained in the boom card deck. Boom cards are fun for students, provide them with immediate feedback, and allow me to track student understanding of the academic concepts addressed in each Boom Card set.
