Bookshelves, Snacks, Games, and More!

Help me give my students a safe, clean, and fun learning environment. New bookshelves to shave little hands from splinters, cleaning supplies, snacks, indoor games, and a self-laminator.

My Students

My third graders are very fun, loving, caring, and eager to learn! They all come from different backgrounds, from single parent households to families with two working parents, and parents who work multiple jobs. Regardless of their family life they walk into my classroom every day ready to make amazing things happen. We have a saying in my class, “Amazing Things Happen Here”, and that is what they strive to do each and every day!

My Project

Students will be returning back to school after being home for most of the 2020-2021 school year. School will definitely be quite different when they return. They will all need to wear masks, socially distance themselves, wash their hands consistently, and still be able to learn. Clorax wipes will be used daily to wipe down their desks, tools, and game pieces. Tissue will be available for them to use when they need to without having to run to the bathroom or using their clothing. Paper towels will be used for when they are done washing their hands to wipe them dry instead of dripping them all over the floor and or on themselves. With being at home for the past year many of these routines were forgotten. It will take time to readjust but with these supplies they will be able to.

The new bookshelves will help replace two of my older shelves.

They are falling apart and not safe for my students as I myself have gotten splinters from them. Our bookshelves play an essential part in our classroom as we use them for our library, math games, and manipulatives.

We all know that being at home during distance learning we were able to snack as we pleased. Well now that will all change as we head back into the classroom. So, I want to be able to continue to give my students snacks throughout the day as needed.

Indoor games are a great way to socialize but still socially distance. That too will be a little different. Some students may not have had many interactions with others prior to the start of the new school year. A self-laminator and the pouches will allow me to make name tags, posters, and laminate student work.
