This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach the most loving, kind-hearted, and inspiring students in the world. Many students who attend our school are from low-income housing and have their own personal struggles and obstacles. I want school to be a place where they do not have to worry and can get access to anything and everything they need to be successful.
Students who attend our school are a mixture of different economic and cultural backgrounds.
We are a Title 1 school with over 75% entitled to free lunch. My students are the most down to earth, silly, caring, and sincere individuals I've ever met. They deserve the world and much, much more.
My Project
I recently got a project funded, which provided my class with brand new books with black and brown protagonists. This project will allow me to display these new books on shelves in my classroom. Currently, my classroom has hand-me-down book shelves that are standing on their last leg (literally I have books holding them up). I don't want my students to have to worry about a book shelf falling or breaking as they are exploring the new books. In addition, I added a cricut bag, which will allow me to store the machine in a teacher locker and help to organize all of the tools and materials purchased for the cricut.
