My Students
Do you remember what it was like the first time you read a book you couldn't put down? Well, my classroom needs more of those kinds of books. And more importantly, these books need to jump into my students' hands.
My first graders are eager, hard-working students.
They come from many different countries, including the United States, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Yemen, Egypt, Turkey, Poland, Mexico and more. Many of my students are English language learners; at this age it is amazing to watch how much they grow and learn.
My Project
With these additional titles added to our classroom library, my students will be able to find books they love in a snap! I have chosen books that are high interest for this age group. I have also chosen books that can be grouped together easily. If my student knows they love Elephant and Piggy books by Mo Willems, the books will be conveniently located in the "Elephant and Piggy" basket. Some students will even challenge themselves to reading all of the books in a basket!
By adding these books to my classroom library, you will make book shopping day the most exciting day for my students!
They will flourish as readers, and more importantly, they will develop a true love of reading.
