My students need desperately need 11 NEW photography books to learn from and complete their classwork!!!

My Students

You could only call our books "books" by the loosest of definitions!!! Our current photography books are falling apart, missing pages, torn pages and covers. Students have to use multiple books to complete their class work assignments.

My students range from Freshmen to Seniors in High School.

Students come into my class excited to learn about the subject of photography but once we get into reading from the book and doing classwork assignments they quickly become discouraged because of the condition our books are in. When I tell them to turn to page 71, 5 or 6 students raise their hand and sadly tell me they do not even that have page or even chapter in the book! These students want to learn about the art of photography but it is hard for them to do when the book is falling apart on them.

My Project

I am requesting 10 books to help support my cause in getting my students the new books they deserve! I have already raised $600 on my own but still need help to reach my class goal of 40 books. These 10 books will help to show my students that we care about their education of the arts and will get one new book per table. When asked to open their books to chapter 2 they will actually have a chapter 2 to open to...students will not have to trade books with each other to find the answer to questions and they will all be able to follow along with the class reading. Students will feel like they are cared about by getting these new books. I will not have to hear the dreaded question of "when are we getting new books" any longer! Help save my sanity!!!

This project is important because it will help my students to further their education on the subject of photography; students will be able to learn more and will not be discouraged by having to use a book that may or may not contain the answer to the questions they are looking for.

Having even just these 10 NEW books will keep my students motivated for the year until I can completely replace the old set with new ones.
