This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my bilingual 3rd grade classroom, reading is more than a subject—it’s a bridge between languages, cultures, and student identity. As a departmentalized reading teacher, I serve students from diverse, multilingual backgrounds who are eager to grow as readers in both Spanish and English.

This project will enable me to create a classroom library featuring high-quality Spanish books, leveled readers, and inclusive stories that reflect my students' diverse experiences.

Along with visual aids, storage bins, and essential supplies, these materials will support personalized learning and help students feel confident, engaged, and connected to the content.

By removing barriers to access—whether linguistic, economic, or cultural—we can build a reading space where every student feels seen, supported, and empowered.
