My first graders are active and so excited about learning. Within the group, there is a wide array of abilities represented. Some are reading and writing ahead of our grade level, and others are learning foundational skills. One thing they have in common is that they are all very active and learn best when they can be active. We spend most of our day learning in small groups that best meet their needs.
I love to provide hands on experiences and ways for them to be actively engaged in learning.
I want them to learn and be excited about learning. They should not only be learning skills and facts, but developing curiosity and constantly asking questions, wanting to know more.
My first graders are learning how to read and love having books that are interesting and fun to read. They love fun and interesting characters. They also need the books to be on levels that they can read.
These high interest books with wonderful characters they love will help them be excited about reading.
These books will help them to learn and entice them to read. Having them engaged and excited will help them to grow as readers and learners. They will be able to use these in small group reading, partner reading, and independent reading. There are also books we will read whole group as a class.
