My Students
My students are book-loving, enthusiastic learners.
Students at my school are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative.
Our school is a Title One school where 69% are on free and reduced lunches. As eager kindergarten learners, books are so important to my students and are truly valued. Many of my students do not have access to books at home and rely on our school library to check out high-quality books. There is a buzz about books and an excitement for reading in our school. Our school is a Title I school and many students don't have books to read at home or a way to get to a local library.
I would love to see my students take home five new books by the end of the year. (May 2020) so they can enjoy books over the summer.

My Project
Each year after students work so hard to acquire new skills, there is a lag time during the summer. Many students aren't provided with rich pieces of literature to read at home. Students are either unable to get to a public library or just simply don't. I'd like to be able to provide rich literature for my students so that they will be able to read at home.
