My Project
Our school's media center is a busy place! Readers often come in and make book requests related to seasonal events and celebrations. Christmas, Hanukkah, and Diwali are among the holidays they want to read about. These celebration themed books are very popular with readers, especially in November and December, so they get a lot of use. We'd love to expand our selection so that there are more titles available for readers who are interested in these books when they are in high demand during the holiday season.
This project will expand and diversify the selection of holiday titles in our media center's collection and give our school's young readers new books to enjoy that highlight the joy of a variety of holiday experiences and traditions.
The books in this project represent a variety of winter holidays, so they'll be able to provide readers a window into the celebrations enjoyed beyond their own homes and give them an expanded view of our big world. In addition to being on our media centers for readers to check out, these books will also be available to classroom teachers to use as read alouds with their students.
