Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Lively, energetic, and kind are three words I would use to describe our young learners. Every day, they do their best to achieve all that they can. Our students desperately want to be actively involved in what they do in the classroom.
Living in a large city can be difficult for many young children.
My young learners live close to the downtown area in our city. They go to a Title I school where all students receive free breakfast and lunch daily. Their basic food needs, except for dinner, are taken care of, but now they need something to sustain their minds.
My Project
I'm starting a new experience teaching Literacy to the fifth grade. I'm excited about this transition; however, materials are needed to help my students and I as we swim through our year in Literacy.
Reading is essential for both students and teachers.
The books chosen for this project will benefit both the children and me. These books will help me to differentiate the materials for each student. This is essential to the learning process.
The Core Literacy books will guide me as I create our curriculum by following the standards set forth by our school district. Students will benefit from my knowledge of the Core because their lessons will be much richer. Lastly, the Gorilla Tape will help as we place various items up for our Literacy Centers.
