Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The books requested for my high school leadership students will play a crucial role in helping them discover and develop essential leadership principles, including character building, decision-making, and goal-setting. Without a set curriculum for our Leadership class, these resources will provide meaningful structure, guiding students through impactful lessons and hands-on activities that encourage positive choices and practical goal-setting. We’ll be using Combinations by Ed Gerety, a compelling and accessible book packed with powerful stories, actionable strategies, and leadership challenges. This book empowers teens to lead with integrity, make positive choices, and take proactive steps toward their dreams and goals. Additionally, seniors will read How to Influence People by John Maxwell, which focuses on the importance of building positive relationships and influencing others by sharing experiences and values that foster mutual growth.

My goal is to equip students with the tools to lead effectively within our school and prepare them to create positive change in society.

Through this project, I aim to inspire students to apply what they learn in real-world contexts, developing their unique leadership styles while embracing empathy, character, and collaboration.

Our students’ dedication to service, resilience, and growth mindset is what makes them exceptional. Coming from diverse backgrounds, they bring a range of perspectives that enrich our school’s leadership culture and community. They are eager to make a difference and to tackle new challenges with creativity and commitment. Your support in providing these books will empower them to reach their leadership potential, broaden their perspectives, and help them become compassionate, driven leaders. Together, we can ensure that these students thrive and contribute meaningfully within their communities and beyond.
