We are currently reading Act 5, Scene 1 of Othello. We are on the home stretch. The visuals of the graphic novel have brought a deeper understanding to them of this classic Shakespearean play.\r\n\r\nDuring reading in class, my students are quiet when reading all of the assigned pages, so much so that they will read beyond the pages assigned. I have had four students ask to bring the book home and finish it in one weekend. I have not had any student say that they didn't want to read.\r\n\r\nThe fidgets have aided students when they are reading, and when they complete their reading, they can take a break. I feel like my special education students have received the visuals they need to understand the text, as well as the context.
