My students need high-quality leveled readers in order to continue to progress as readers. These books have high-quality text and pictures that will help students meet their goals.

My Students
My classroom has 19 students aged 5 to 6 years old, who range from at-risk readers to accomplished readers who do not have enough choices in their classroom library to consistently pique their interest. They are wonderful children who keep me on my toes to stay engaged. My school does its best to help give support to students at all levels of reading.
The more you read, the better you get, the better you get, the more you read!
This motto is important to our student' success. However, often my students get tired of reading the same simple books over and over and want to find success with engaging materials in Book Clubs.
My Project
I send home books with my students every night. Research shows that students who read at a kindergarten level should be taking home at least 15 books weekly. Right now, I just do not have the resources to allow my students to take home the number of books that they really need to succeed. I am asking for guided reading books in levels C and D because these are the levels that most of my kids are reading on at this point in the year.
By donating to this project, you are not only helping my students to learn to read, but helping them to gain a LOVE of reading by providing them with high-quality, fun, and interesting books at levels that are accessible to them.
Each night, my students bring home books that they can read with their families. This grant will give them more opportunity to read more titles so that they can become life-long readers.
