Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Reading is the foundation of academic success, and fostering a love for books at an early stage is essential. This grant aims to provide my students with a diverse selection of beginner chapter books, helping them build confidence, fluency, and comprehension skills as they transition from picture books to more complex texts.

Many of my students are emerging readers who are ready to take on the challenge of chapter books but lack access to appropriately leveled, engaging material.

By providing my students with beginner chapter books and organized book bins, this grant will help them develop essential literacy skills and inspire a lifelong love of reading. With your support, we can create a richer, more engaging, and organized reading environment that empowers students to become confident, independent readers.

Additionally, book bins will be used to keep the chapter books organized and easily accessible, promoting independent book selection and a tidy, inviting classroom library.
