My Students
One of my goals for this project is to foster my students' love of learning. I can do this while letting them play, if I provide the appropriate materials with a purpose.
The students in the classroom come from diverse backgrounds.
They are a mix of students from traditional homes, and ethnic and varied family mixes. Each child comes to our school to learn and begin their path to making many new friends. Play is the way to make that happen.
My Project
Our school is lucky enough to have the children's Author, Cathryn Falwell coming to visit this fall. MS. Falwell will be doing a program, during the school day, with the students, and another one in the evening, with the parents. We are hoping to get a new book for each child to take home after meeting the Author. Cathryn Falwell will be signing these books for the students, so I am hoping this will become a meaningful piece of literature that will be their own. This is even more important, because many of the children don't have many books in their homes. This is likely to become a treasured item in many homes.
