My school has a strong community of teachers who are always looking for the best ideas and tools possible in order to better prepare our students for their future careers.
My class includes very precocious seven- and eight-year-old children who come to school every day eager to learn and explore.
Many of my students come from low-income households and do not have the resources needed for success outside of school. I believe it is up to their teachers to expose them to the possibilities that their future holds. My students love to be productive members of our classroom!
This year our standards have changed for Science and Social Studies. Students will be doing a research project on a person from history and will need biographies at their level to help them in their research. Many biographies to choose from will help focus students and get them excited about their research.
Having books at their reading level really helps children to comprehend and retain what they read.
We will also be studying the planets and need some nonfiction books to read in our small groups. This kit features books specifically about the sun and moon, so students will be able to focus on specific details they are required to learn.
