This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are hardworking fourth graders who come from some diverse families of Miami. Many of my students are coming in as English language learners and are adjusting to not only learning rigorous material but learning in a new language. They are learning all about what it means to be kind, responsible, and safe in and outside of the classroom. Their parents can be very supportive and want their children to receive a great education.
My students love reading and writing.
Helping develop their skills is essential to their success. They improve with assistance and are always willing to try their best.
My Project
If I am able to wipe down my student desks with disinfectant wipes it will help keep them healthier. In addition, my students need tissues to help keep their noses from running. I also have requested a vacuum cleaner because our floors become very dirty with forty students in and out of the class. Our school is over 60 years old, and I will clean whatever can be cleaned to better the environment for these kids.
I have chosen some great books for this project so they have materials to read.
We need books with which the students can identify. Having some books that relate to black history, or are just great literature like “Chocolate Touch” will really help me engage my students in reading!
I like to keep a clean classroom with healthy students! With certain concerns for health and safety, these items would truly benefit my students.
