My Students

I teach full-day kindergarten in an Oklahoma school that values learning through ​multiple intelligences. We know the importance of kinesthetic and visual learning, as when children are able to make connections. The students in my classrooms come from a variety of social, academic, and economic backgrounds. In spite of our differences, our classroom is a place where students embrace connections made across content areas as we develop as learners and community members.

Children benefit from authentic learning experiences where their engagement stems from their ability to have choice, voice, and ownership of their learning through play!

My Project

Our class loves books read aloud. It's one of our favorite parts of the day as well as enjoying books independently after. Children are naturally curious about the world around them.

These books will help us grow as readers throughout the seasons!

Over and Under the Canyon, Over and Under in the Rainforest, Over and Under in the Pond, Over and Under in the Snow and many others will naturally create wonder and curiosity as we engage in the world around us. Exploring concepts that contrast while enjoying books by the same author and format will create consistency through our learning.
