Our students are overcomers!
They are eager to read and learn, and enjoy a good book.
These titles have been nominated for the Pacific Northwest Library Association's Young Readers' Choice Award for 2026.
Students have the opportunity to read or listen to these titles and vote for their favorite. Students sometimes choose to read the titles independently, as a book club, or as a class read-aloud.
This great book award program encourages students to read quality books that they like, engage in conversation with peers and adults about books, and feel empowered that their opinion matters.
Last year after I promoted each book, students wrote their prediction for the ending. That really sparked their interest!
I would like to have multiple copies of these chapter books to expand the number of students participating. I think this could lead to exponentially more reading and that's something that definitely gets my vote!
