My Project
We know that students learn more when they are engaged with the presentation and the material is accessible for all students. These books will enrich our classroom instruction through the use of Mentor Sentences to teach grammar, parts of speech, vocabulary, punctuation and sentence structure. Students identify these elements using sentences within the stories.
By interacting with the read alouds, the students improve their skills and apply their knowledge in a fun, accessible way. We all love picture books and 5th graders also are sophisticated readers and many of the titles include themes and characters that are relatable.
