Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The books, crayons and crayon sharpener I am requesting will make a difference in my students' learning by teaching acceptance and creating an environment where my students can feel safe. The environment created through these texts allows students to learn about humanity and use what they have learned to become empathetic, caring members of their family, class, and community.

My goals are for students to recognize and accept diversity and to be empowered to be a part of positive changes in their community for the benefit of the community and global members.

The students will discuss the texts and create products meant to impact others to see the strengths in each person instead of their weaknesses.

What makes my students special is that though they may not have as many resources as students from other areas might have, they have a strong sense of community and a desire to improve the world around them.
