Help me give my students read-a-loud books that will invite conversations about diversity and a place to store some of our flexible seating options!

My Project

It is important for students to see characters that look like they do in books that we read. This helps motive all students to read more and learn about their classmates. This years class is very diverse and one way to learn about some of our differences is to talk about what makes every student in the class special.

Reading picture books is a great way to start the conversation.

I want to provide a classroom where every student feels safe and welcome. Coming back from remote learning has been very difficult for some students and I want to make sure they feel valued and are respected by all in the classroom.

As part of flexible seating we already have some surf desks, but we do not have a place to store them safely when not in use. The storage rack will help to solve this issue.
