Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a group of energetic scholars. They are eager learners who are ready to take on the challenges of the 21st century. They are young people that simply need the resources to stimulate their creative minds.

With support from hard-working families, my students have to balance their rigorous academic work while navigating through the challenges of distance learning while living through a pandemic.

Regardless of the issues they face on a daily basis, they have goals, drive, and most importantly, they are hungry for knowledge. They possess great aspirations for change in their neighborhood, our country, and the world.

My Project

I have found that some of my students are tired of screen time. They are expected to spend countless hours in front of electronic devices every single day. This has proven to be taxing on their bodies and stress levels. Students have reached out and asked if there are hard copies of books that they can use for their independent reading projects.

With a diverse collection of books that students can check out safely, I will be able to continue providing students with important language arts and reading comprehension materials while not requiring them to spend additional time in front of a screen.
