Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We recently created a small reading and calming corner in our classroom, and it has been a success! Our students finally have a place to read and de-stress. Unfortunately, we're limited on the books we have access to. Though we've gotten some donations from the community and community leaders.

Our students deserve to have books that include writers and fictional characters with a variety of backgrounds, beliefs, and life circumstances.

This is vital so that our students will find both windows and mirrors in the library.

Please join me in giving our students books that reflect their lives, and ones that give them insight into the lives and experiences of people who aren’t like them.
