Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach an incredible group of students who bring so much heart, resilience, and curiosity to our classroom every day. My students are diverse in every way—racially, culturally, linguistically, and in how they learn. Many are English learners, and all receive special education services. What they have in common is a deep desire to be seen, valued, and understood.

Every book in this project is a mirror, a window, or a doorway—helping my students recognize themselves, learn about others, and imagine what’s possible.

From stories that celebrate cultural pride and racial justice to cute inspirational picture books, these titles are tools for building both literacy and identity.

These stories are more than just lessons—they’re opportunities for connection, confidence, and growth. With the right books in their hands, my students can better understand the world and their place in it.
