Help me give my students a multilingual and diverse classroom library that contains books with characters who represent all students in our class!

My Project

These books will help our students explore multilingual and diverse cultural experiences from right in our classroom. My classroom library is a space that represents all students in our class. Through bilingual literacy, characters with similar life experiences, and books that show us the history of our many cultures my classroom library is a space where all students are able to feel seen in our world. Through independent reading, teacher read alouds, and whole class novel studies my students are spending time with a book every day! All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. Through literary conversations with students and families, these books reflect student interests and requests specially chosen by them. By including multilingual books in this project I am able to better equip my students who speak english as a second language with the opportunity to continue to grow in their native language while also growing in English! The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. These books would help support my current and future students by showing them power in who they are!
