Books That Introduce Kids To Great Artists

My Students
I believe it is my duty to provide a learning environment that gets my students excited about reading and technology.
Our classrooms are full of students from a variety of backgrounds, but we all come together as one big family at school. My students live in a small rural community of about five thousand people. Approximately forty-one and a half percent of students at our school are living at, or below, the poverty level. Most of their families consist of blue-collar workers living paycheck to paycheck.
My Project
It is often said that books can open your mind to the world.
This project consists of a variety of fiction and non-fiction children's books that aim to teach kids about famous artists throughout history and their individual techniques.
With over forty books to choose from, there is certainly something for every curious little artist in this collection. There are books on specific artists, their lives and techniques including: Kandinsky, Matisse, Van Gogh, Picasso and Monet. Also included are a handful of age-appropriate books that cover a wide range of art history and a few that give ideas for students on how to create their own artwork.
This collection will make a nice addition to the "arts" collection in our library.
