My Students
My students are inquisitive, creative, and innovative 4th graders who are always looking for new ways to challenge themselves. They are growing up in a tech-rich environment, so I am constantly looking for ways to incorporate tech that will expand their problem-solving skills.
There is nothing more engaging for my students than being given a fun, creative, and new type of tool that they can explore and use for problem-solving. I am constantly amazed by the ability they have to think of unique solutions and to continue to challenge each other to push their thinking further.
My Project
My students are launching into a new reading experience at school this year, giving them much more time to spend with books of their choice. After teaching for 18 years, my classroom library could use some updating.
When students have access to books that inspire them and engage them, their skills and passion both grow immensely. There is nothing like seeing the right book in the right hands.
A new batch of books for our classroom library will encourage even the most hesitant readers to keep going. These are titles that were chosen specifically by today's fourth graders, so I know they will be well-loved.
