My Project

As a dedicated 9th and 11th-grade English teacher, I'm passionate about fostering a lifelong love of reading in my students. To do this, I need to provide them with engaging Young Adult (YA) novels that resonate with their experiences and interests. With your support, I aim to build a diverse classroom library filled with titles that will captivate my students' imaginations and spark meaningful discussions.

I have emphasized that books are both Mirrors and Windows and these books will not only enhance their literacy skills but also encourage them to explore different perspectives and connect with the world around them.

I freely share with my students that I didn't really love reading until I became an adult. I didn't know that there were books out there that were actually interesting! And through several hours of research, interviews, and surveys, the students have given me an exhaustive list. This request is only one part of their interests. I hope to keep growing my library to encompass all of their wants!
