My Students

Our school prides itself in showing "Panther Pride" throughout our school and community. We are located in Cary, North Carolina, and have a plethora of diverse backgrounds and cultures all through our school. My project is to fill our library with new picture books that have characters who look like our students and represent all of the cultures we see as we walk into every classroom.

My Project

Our school is EXTREMELY diverse and we need more books that have leading characters that our students can relate to.

This project is to get books into our school library that have main characters that look like the students we serve at our school.

These books will help our kids connect to these characters that mirror their identities and can create such an impact by seeing characters that look like them who have faced challenges, overcome obstacles, and changed the world. This project will allow our students to not only see themselves but also learn about other cultures.
