This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
9th grade sets the stage for the high school students' expectations surrounding what a secondary English class will be. Your donation will help me build a culture of enthusiasm surrounding foundational reading & writing skills and foster my students' love for storytelling.
World War Z will offer a unique and engaging reading experience to get my students thinking about how we come up with stories.
Max Brooks' novel depicts a world post-zombie war where humans emerge triumphant. While reading these books, students will spend their time making real-world connections, both historical and scientific, and consider how authors use research to develop and strengthen their storytelling. Using Brooks' writing as inspiration, they will then create their own narratives grounded in their research practice.
