My Students

I am the district librarian in a low-income/high poverty school district. My students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite these challenges they face, I am looking to help them compete with other students in our state.

I work very hard to give my students a great school environment.

We have a great Middle/High School library. When we went into remote learning, last winter, I realized that I needed more online resources for my students.

My Project

We have wonderful libraries in our school district. One area of our library that could you a boost is DIVERSITY! Our schools are becoming more diverse every year. We have wonderfully diverse families moving into our community. The books that I have placed in our cart will help new students who are coming into our school. These books will also help our current students to understand diversity. One of our themes at our elementary school is Be Kind! By reading about and understanding diversity we will be able to be kind to all. This is so important in this day and age.
