Books That Come to Life

Help me give my students a mini iPad so they will get to create animated green screen videos!

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Webster's classroom raised $552

My Students

I teach second-graders in one of the best rural schools in Oklahoma! My students are amazing, inquisitive, and eager to learn. Although some may have difficult lives, my students come to school with smiles on their faces. They are supportive and cheer each other to success. Half of them go to Title I Reading, thirty minutes every day, for extra help.

My students are special because they have curiosity, creativity, compassion, and positive attitudes.

They are leaders who show love, compassion, kindness, and bravery. They are truly amazing people. My school is wonderfully supportive of the active, hands-on learning that we do in our classroom. I couldn't ask for a better environment for these students. We are truly a community!

My Project

This mini iPad will be used for creating book talks using the app Doink. I will place my students into groups of four. While in these groups, my students will literally become part of their favorite story or book by dropping illustrations, stock video, or photo backdrops into the background in Doink's green screen feature. Groups will be able to add text and written commentary to the digital book reports as well. My special needs students would be able to this project because a team member will help them. These book talks will be showcased on our TVs which are mounted on the walls in our hallways.

My students' will have to video each other presenting their book talks in front of a green screen.

This mini iPad will be used for filming a student giving their book talk. These book talks will be created from books my students check out from our school library. When other students see these book talks they will want to check out these books! These book talks will encourage other students to want to read these books!
