This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Books are more than just tools for literacy—they are windows, mirrors, and doors. My students need access to books where they can see themselves, their families, and their cultures valued and represented. They also need windows into other cultures and experiences to build empathy and understanding.
What I love most about my students is their enthusiasm, resilience, and joy for learning.
They are thoughtful, kind, and eager to grow as readers—whether they're just starting to sound out words or already reading in two languages. Watching their confidence grow as they connect with a story, ask questions, or laugh out loud at a funny book is truly the best part of my day.
