My Students
I want to support engagement in my special education classroom so that my students love to learn more than ever and can acquire the skills they need to achieve their wildest dreams!
My students are thoughtful and curious 4th graders.
I work with a variety of students with disabilities and each child has unique learning needs. No matter their current skill level, however, each child comes to my classroom ready to learn. I can see their eager desire to learn as they strive to engage with material and seek hands-on opportunities to do so. In our school, I am lucky to work together with my wonderful co-teacher and paraprofessionals to ensure that every student is receiving the best supports they can, across environments. We truly have a community of learners from staff to students, and we are looking forward to having more resources to increase our success and meet our goals!
My Project
These books will enhance our classroom library so that it reflects the world around us and our very own classroom community. Many of the books in my classroom library are old and the content is outdated. I want to bring literature that is engaging to my curious and aware students.
By having these books in my classroom, the world will be at the fingertips of my students.
They will be transported by their imagination when they read these fictional tales, drawn into our present by the information on the pages they turn, and driven by empathy for the characters both real and created.
