Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is dedicated to building relationships with all students and seeking the best for each student. Not only is this my focus in the classroom, but finding tools and resources that can help my students succeed.
In Third grade, my students are diverse readers who love to dive into a good book.
Some students may be below, at, or above grade level in terms of reading. No matter the ability, my students have loved to read or listen to a great story.
My Project
Going into my third year of teaching I have found that students do not all read at one level. I have expanded my knowledge and found that in order to best address students' needs they must have access to quality books at a level they can read and understand. We need fiction and non-fiction books for students who read on Second through Fifth grade levels.
The students I serve read at a variety of levels.
I want my students to have access to books that they read on their own level as well as have books available at levels they progress to. Having this classroom library will give my students an opportunity to have books they can read and access on their own.
