This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Representation Matters and one way of promoting that is by providing my black and brown scholars with books that giving them a window into seeing people like them whom have overcome barriers and provided ample contributions to todays society.

Black lives matter and representation matters too!

I want to be able to give my students literature that they can deeply connect with and provide them with representation of who they are and who they become. These books are affirming and liberating and will be used to promote social justice change. As we know our future is riding on the backs of our youth, so let's give them the resources to take on the future with the growth mindset of change can come from all of us.
