My Project

We do a lot of literacy-based therapy in my speech sessions. I just love that these target several goals within, and easily connect with skills that we also want to see in the classrooms.

Whether it's a 7-year-old or 12-year-old sitting across the horseshoe table or next to me, books that are engaging, funny, relatable, plus target the sounds and language needed - are simply the best!

Every month, I select books that are thematic and will help my students towards their IEP goals. It can be tricky to find ones that are loaded with speech sounds I need, and at the same time, lead to WH- questions and inferences at the end of the story, for increasing both receptive and expressive language. It would be so wonderful if you could help furnish my classroom with books that are tried-and-tested (so to speak), as well as catchy and new to explore.
