Creative, destined for greatness, imaginative, kind, sarcastic, humorous - those are just a few words to describe my students...aka, my kids. We are a group of 5th graders who learn through project based and hands-on activities.
Creativity and innovation have helped engage my learners to become invested in their education.
My grade-level consists of forty-seven students of varying abilities. We are a close-knit community of learners who grow together. Our school is a charter school that consists of grades kindergarten through eleventh grade. All students in our school receive free lunch. Many of our students face challenges inside and outside of school that limit the experiences they have outside of their familiar community.
As a school, we are dedicated to focusing on and bringing out the best in our kids. In order to do this, we need support from you.
My Project
Teachers are always looking for ways to connect content through picture books. Part of this project is designed to enhance curriculum through the use of short historical fiction novels.
In addition to picture books, our kids are always on the move.
Providing kids with alternative seating exercise balls will give them choices in the type of seats they choose to use throughout the school day. Who wouldn't like to softly bounce on an exercise ball as they are working independently on projects?
Kids enjoy being creative. The decorative scissors will give them the chance to "spruce" up the projects they are working on.
