Books Requested by Boys: Adventure, Survival, Western Edition!
Help me give my students survival novels to fill the genre gap we are missing in our high school classroom bookshelf!

My Project
We have truly been so excited to build a bookshelf together and take student requests to start filling it for our classroom! Our bookshelf has many books that we love and have shared reading many times. Newest drama? Got it. TikTok trending? Got it. Book turned movie? We have that, too! But I have been told over these last few weeks is that we have a very big gap in a few genres!
The boys have been very vocal (to say the least) about what they want to read, and the fact we barely have any books in that genre category, if any at all!
We have laughed that our bookshelf is majority "frilly" books, and they specifically want something "western or adventurous" to read. Fulfilling their specific book requests would not only get them reading, but would make them feel heard, important, and appreciated! I would love to make this happen for the boys in our classroom!
