This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are unique, friendly, and curious. They thrived with the repetition of our classroom routines and enjoyed our daily collaborative conversations. Now my students are currently engaging in weekly online sessions via google hangout meets. With distance learning in place, my hope is that my project can bring stimulating fun to my students.

My Project

My first graders love to read and enjoy our classroom library daily. Now that we are in distance learning, I know my students are missing not only our friends, but also our classroom and library. My goal is to mail each of my students two books that they can enjoy at home during this unusual time. Previously, I mailed cards and letters to my students all of which were happily received. I can only imagine how excited they would be to receive a package of books in the mail; books that would be their very own!
