Help me give my students challenging books that will help them learn about topics in Spanish but will also help them learn about events in our history that they should know about.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Each morning, I am privileged to walk into a classroom of activists, dreamers, comedians, poets, and scientific explorers. My students daily astound me with their passions and their dedication to learning. They frequently bring a smile to my face with their second grade observations about the classroom, the school community, and the world around them.
Spanish and hints of English season our school day with the rich flavor of learning, melding into a rich flavor of academic success.
Our dual language school is an art school in a city where art programs are being steadily cut from many schools. The students in my classroom bring their talents, like the ability to do a cartwheel, into their performances, as well as harness their ability to use Google classroom to complete work in the 21st century.
My Project
My classroom library does not have many authentic Spanish texts or many translated Spanish texts. My students need access to more books that they are interested in.
Please help me to enrich the lives of my students with nonfiction and fiction texts that they would be interested in reading as well as books in Spanish, which is the native language of about half of them.
These books talk about important events, people, and social justice issues for our society. When topics come up in the curriculum, I will be able to pull out one of these books so that they have a frame of reference.
